Destination Wedding San Pancho, Nayarit

Christian and Debby’s wedding was one of the most moving events I have been to in Mexico, both because of their love for each other and the spirituality that went into it. They were married by a Shaman and the ceremony involved breaking open different fruits to feed to each other and a ‘unity belt’. That being the case I wasn’t surprised when they told me they didn’t want any posed formals. What I love about that is I had more time to capture those small moments that you so easily miss like when they walked down to the water to rinse the pomegranate off their hands.

Paul+Paty Destination Wedding San Pancho, Mexico

Paul and Paty came to me by way of Paty’s sister Susie who is a good friend of mine. Paul is from Bermuda and Paty is Mexican and they met when Paul was visiting Puerto Vallarta a few years ago. The wedding was small and intimate, held on the beach in San Pancho and the reception was at Susie’s house in town. It was a whole town affair with friends cooking up the food and playing the tunes!

It was very casual and they didn’t want any posed portraits so we pretty much just hung out on the beach before the ceremony and got some nice relaxed shots!

During the reception the girls had to walk under a bridge that Paty and Paul made and then the guys had to catch an apron. I’m still a little confused as to what was actually happening, but whoever caught the apron and whoever caught the bouquet had to dance together.
