Melissa+Adam

Totally awesome. That’s Melissa and Adam in two words. Seriously. Two of the most real people that I have worked with yet and even rain couldn’t put a damper on their day. We rearranged, we saw, we conquered. Small, intimate, and located at the gorgeous Casa Guillermo in Conchas Chinas this wedding was full of surprises. From vows being read off an iPad to pretty much all of the attendants ending up in the pool. Oh and a delicious gelato bar by Naef Cuisine.

Adam’s only job for the wedding was to take charge of the music. So he did… and then some. Rather than just pick out their favorite songs and put them on a playlist he opted to include those songs in his vows for Melissa. It was hilarious. And amazing. And from what I found out, totally Adam. I mean who else could manage to insert ‘Ice Ice Baby’ and ‘Hip Hop Hooray’ into something as important and meaningful as their wedding vows? Adam did and it was incredible. Did I mention he also read them off of his iPad? Melissa’s face in the photos where Adam is reading his vows is absolutely priceless.

Debby - Love, love this wedding, Jill! You captured soooo much of the day and evening!

Melissa Peters Allgood - I love Love LOVE the photos! Jill you are simply the best and we were SO INCREDIBLY LUCKY to work with you! I love that most of the time I didn’t even realize you were there (unless, of course, you were directing traffic in Spanish as the umbrellas were moved over…and over…and over..)

Thank you for capturing our special day in such a beautiful way!

Allison+Jeff’s Day of the Dead themed Sayulita wedding.

Allison and Jeff were married at Brisa del Mar palapa in Sayulita, Nayarit overlooking the entire beach. With catering by Don Pedro’s and design and coordination by Yazmin from Sea of Dreams this wedding was definitely one of a kind. The theme of the wedding was Day of the Dead and the design that Yazmin came up with was beautiful. I absolutely love the use of the lotería game throughout the wedding, especially as the placemats. In addition to Don Pedro’s there were also tacos al pastor my absolute favorite and instead of a wedding cake, churros!

Allison got ready at Villa Amor which is on top of the South hill of Sayulita and therefore has gorgeous light peeking through the windows…

suzanne - Love them all – but those last two fireworks shots are amazing!

Disaster Hits Villages in Nayarit.

It’s been a while since my last post and that is due to the insane flash flooding that we were inundated with in the beginning of September. I have never experienced a natural disaster of this magnitude before and it took some time (and will take more for others) to recover. I personally lost equipment and my car was flooded out, but there are many who lost their homes and some who are still displaced. The bridge to San Pancho as well as the bridges to Sayulita and Higuera Blanca collapsed and there were times when we had no connection to the outside world. Like I said it was insane. These are some of the photos I was able to take during the crisis. There is still so much help needed and even though I know most of my future brides and grooms out there don’t have a lot of extra cash lying around during the planning process, please consider sending this information to your family and friends. Once the river calmed down a bit the kids took advantage of the cord put up to cross the river with supplies…
We were able to find a little time to have fun… and what better way than with Twister!

Brenda DeWeber - Jillian, I am so sorry to see the tough times that hit your beautiful town. Thank you for the photos that, as usual, highlight the life of San Pancho. We have donated and hopefully every little bit helps. All the best friend.

admin - Thank you Ellen for your kind words about my photography and bienvenidos a San Pancho. I’m sure we’ll run into each other at some point soon. As you know it is a very small town…

admin - Thanks Jess! Everything is slowly getting back to normal, but there are still a lot of families in need. I’m just hoping the rainy season is now behind us, but that may be wishful thinking…

Ellen Van Baren . EVB Studio . San Pancho - Thank you so much Jillian for posting these amazing photos. We are new to town, having moved here on September 1st. It has been so incredible to be a part of all of this and to witness the people pull together to help one another.
Your photography is beautiful. I have enjoyed all the photos on this site and posted a link on my Facebook so that my family in Canada could see what happened.
Gracias a ti!

Jess McCann - Wow Jillian!! I am glad your ok and safe. I am sorry about the loss of your equipment :( and car. Hope all those who are displaced will find homes again soon.
