Out and About in Seattle.

There’s something about this shot that I love. I was walking around Capitol Hill in Seattle when I got kicked out of the backstage area of the Capitol Hill Block Party for taking photos (Who knew a backstage pass didn’t mean free rein to take photos of the artists? At least I got a couple rolls off before they got me…)

Happy Holidays y’all. Kodak Portra 160.

Sara - I love it! Merry Christmas Jillian!

Please Help Entreamigos.

Entreamigos is the non-profit in San Pancho that I have been working for/with for the past six years. It has grown from a one room makeshift space to a real live amazing community center serving both the children of San Pancho and their families. One of the highlights of this past year was the Circo de Los Niños. I posted the preparation for the circus here, but never got to putting up the actual show so here it is.

The reason this is coming now is we have an awesome opportunity to get a matched grant made possible by Loaded Skateboards. For every dollar that is donated Loaded will donate one as well. This is all going to help finish our new design center so please in this time of giving think of Entreamigos because every little bit helps!

Entreamigos | Circo de Los Niños | Destination Wedding Photographer | Mexico | New York | LA | Jillian Mitchell Photography - […] so lucky to be able to work with them on a daily basis. You can see the photos from the first circo here and here and portraits of our scholarship kids here. If you’d like to make a donation head […]

Kerry - Jill! Great shots! You captured the essence of Entreamigos, the children of San Pancho and their families!

Wedding Film.

I heart film. I just got home after a long day of preparing for the art festival that’s held every year in San Pancho and what do I see, but three emails from the FIND lab telling me that my scans are ready to download. I am giddy with anticipation and had to upload the first two of the lovely Erica. There’s so much to be said about her amazing day, but at a later date. Right now she and Brooke are heading off on a month long honeymoon traveling around South America. So jealous. Kodak Portra 160NC.

Catherine Abegg - I love you, Erica! And I love you Jill. duh.

Jaime+Eric Day After Photo Session | San Pancho, Mexico

Jaime and Eric held their wedding at an all-inclusive to accommodate their friends and family and make it as easy as possible for them to not have to do anything at all while down here to celebrate their wedding. Since that’s not really their style they decided to spend a week after the wedding in San Pancho, also known as my hood. We got to hang out and have some drinks together which I loved because really my clients are more and more getting to be my close friends. We also spent one afternoon shooting around town together from the ruins to the beach. Jaime had this idea that she wanted to do a Frida themed shoot for part of it and she totally played the part while Eric had to forcibly not smile because as everyone knows Diego Rivera was always super serious in photographs. At least that’s what Jaime and I told him.

Here are some of my faves.
