Marfa Texas Wedding Photographer El Cosmico Fine Art Film

About a year ago I got the chance to go celebrate the love of two amazing individuals in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been, Marfa, Texas. It’s rare that I find a town that feels like home after all this time in Mexico, but Marfa immediately felt that way. If I absolutely had to move back to the US of A, I think it would be here.

All shot on Kodak Portra 160 VC expired film and the Contax 645. Square format Yashica Mat 124G with Kodak Ektar coming up in the next post.

The Toronto Star featured an article about the amazing circus that Gilles Ste-Croix started down here with Entreamigos a few years ago. Now in it’s fifth year classes resumed again this week with 100 students aged 8-17. It’s an amazing program that I am so lucky to be a part of. For information on donations to Entreamigos and other community oriented programs in the area visit their website here.

I had the honor of photographing National Geographic’s Travelers of the Year earlier in the summer. Pretty stoked with how the spread came out, especially considering how many people make up the Inion Family! We tried a bunch of different portraits, but my favorite was definitely this one so it’s great to see it in print.

The List is probably the only well designed travel/tourism magazine that I’ve seen in Mexico. It’s geared toward Riviera Nayarit and the surrounding areas and designed by a local couple who just recently happened to move below me from nearby Sayulita. The summer/fall issue features San Pancho (San Francisco) and along with the usual travel anecdotes about our small little fishing village there were also stories on Entreamigos, Las Bodegas, and Alianza Jaguar. The magazine is available throughout Sayulita, San Pancho, and the Puerto Vallarta area so pick up a copy to browse on the beach. I wanted to keep it short so here’s just a couple spreads, but you can check out The List for more photos.
