Thanks to Christi and Taylor I have a house full of gorgeous glasses and old school blue mason jars. When you see the beautiful details of this wedding keep in mind that she did everything. Everything. She brought down suitcases full of pillows, drawer-pulls, and glass ware. She knew exactly what she wanted and her day was nothing short of spectacular. A few days later the three of us had a ‘trash the dress’ session in San Pancho. Side note: The cloth birds were gifts for their guests made by Nierica the designer for Sea of Dreams Weddings out of Sayulita. They got the idea from our engagement shoot a few months earlier which you can see here.

trash the dressJaime and Eric held their wedding at an all-inclusive to accommodate their friends and family and make it as easy as possible for them to not have to do anything at all while down here to celebrate their wedding. Since that’s not really their style they decided to spend a week after the wedding in San Pancho, also known as my hood. We got to hang out and have some drinks together which I loved because really my clients are more and more getting to be my close friends. We also spent one afternoon shooting around town together from the ruins to the beach. Jaime had this idea that she wanted to do a Frida themed shoot for part of it and she totally played the part while Eric had to forcibly not smile because as everyone knows Diego Rivera was always super serious in photographs. At least that’s what Jaime and I told him. Here are some of my faves.
no comments Since almost all weddings in Mexico start a little before sunset that doesn’t leave us with a ton of time for photos of the bride and groom. There are two options: photos before the ceremony or a session a few days after. I love taking advantage of either, but a day after session really allows us for more time to explore the beauty of Mexico and allows me to shoot from more of an editorial/fashion side of things. At least that’s what I’d like to think I’m doing. Either way here are some of my favorites from Ria and John’s portrait session a few days after their wedding in Las Caletas. We started out in the cemetery in Lo de Marcos and then moved on to the ruins and finally to the streets of San Pancho.
no comments When Veronica contacted me about her wedding at Dreams Tulum she was adamant about including a day after session. She specifically wanted to go to one of the cenotes in the area. Cenotes are blue green underwater pools that are native to the East coast of Mexico and are most often only accessible with scuba gear, but every now and then you can find some beauties that you can walk to. I spent the entire day before the wedding scouting cenotes and it paid off because we got some amazing shots in some of the caverns. You would never know by the photos, but Veronica was such a trooper because that dress was incredibly heavy once wet.
show 1 comment Let me start by saying that Melanie and Zach had some of the best speeches I have ever heard. The best man’s was incredible and even included references to Nancy Pelosi. I guess you probably had to be there… and maybe work in politics. They got married at Dreams Vallarta and a few days later we had a “Trash the Dress” session in and around Old Town Puerto Vallarta.
