Thanks to Christi and Taylor I have a house full of gorgeous glasses and old school blue mason jars. When you see the beautiful details of this wedding keep in mind that she did everything. Everything. She brought down suitcases full of pillows, drawer-pulls, and glass ware. She knew exactly what she wanted and her day was nothing short of spectacular. A few days later the three of us had a ‘trash the dress’ session in San Pancho.

Side note: The cloth birds were gifts for their guests made by Nierica the designer for Sea of Dreams Weddings out of Sayulita. They got the idea from our engagement shoot a few months earlier which you can see here.

Game Changer

Sometimes you meet someone and you know it was meant to be.

The universe put you in the same place at the same time for a reason.

Words can not describe how I feel about being a part of Tannen and Peter’s lives. Last Saturday was (as Peter would say) a game changer. My life and career will be forever altered by being a part of their day. There is so much more to be said and lots of photos to be edited, but for now here are the polaroids we took around town together.

Lindsay+Brady | Sayulita, Mexico

Lindsay and Brady got married at Villa del Oso in Sayulita. Besides the fact that they are both gorgeous they have equally amazing style. Lindsay wore Nicole Miller with Kate Spade shoes and Brady had a custom Ermenegildo Zegna suit which he rocked in the sun like it was nobody’s business. Wedding design and coordination was by the lovely Yazmin and Nierica of Sea of Dreams Weddings.

Elizabeth+Kelly | Sayulita, Mexico

Elizabeth and Kelly were my kick off to a crazy fall wedding season and there couldn’t have been a better way to do it. It’s so hard to choose my favorite moment from this wedding. I don’t know if it was the awkward family photos, the break dancing, when Kelly’s almost brother-in-law started dancing to Put a Ring On It and didn’t realize there were only girls on the dance floor waiting for the bouquet to be tossed, or last, but definitely not least when Kelly’s sister caught said bouquet not once, but twice. So. Much. Fun. Wedding design and planning as always by the wonderful Sea of Dreams.

Dominique+Murad | Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Dominique and Murad got married this past October in downtown Puerto Vallarta. Dominique has been visiting Vallarta since she was little so when the big day finally came it was an easy choice to have the wedding down here rather than in Canada. Also convenient was their friend Chawnalee’s gorgeous house on the hill at the beginning of the downtown area. Just the right amount of old school Mexican architecture, but with the amenities you can’t live without (like a red pool) and Chawnlee has found some amazing pieces throughout Mexico over the years to further add to the decor. Dominique is a trained sommelier so I knew there was a great party planned, but it got even better when Cocho (San Pancho local and our Friday night escape in Sayulita) was hired to be their DJ. To round it out Mishka presided over the ceremony. We were representing hard core.

I heart film. I just got home after a long day of preparing for the art festival that’s held every year in San Pancho and what do I see, but three emails from the FIND lab telling me that my scans are ready to download. I am giddy with anticipation and had to upload the first two of the lovely Erica. There’s so much to be said about her amazing day, but at a later date. Right now she and Brooke are heading off on a month long honeymoon traveling around South America. So jealous. Kodak Portra 160NC.

Jaime+Eric | Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico

I first met Jaime and Eric when they came down to do some scouting for their wedding back in February. As we were in the middle of our meeting (I use that term loosely since we really just hung out and chat) Eric got the news that his new rugby television show (he is the chairman of the Canada Rugby League) was green lit so we were already off to a great start. Jaime is no slouch herself being an incredible designer and writing her awesome food blog The Tomato Snob. She has some great recipes on there some of which I have actually attempted and more or less failed most of the time, but they still come out pretty delicious. It’s not important how they look it’s how they taste right? (Says the photographer…)

They spent the day with 60 of their friends and family at Dreams Villa Magna in Nuevo Vallarta. After the wedding they came up to San Pancho for a few days and we got to hang out and take some photos in the ruins and around town. Those will be up on Monday.

Their wedding is also being featured in the new Wedding Bells magazine hitting newsstands this week. Congrats guys!

Cindy+Scott | Newport, RI

Cindy and Scott were married in Newport, RI at the Atlantic Beach Club. It was awesome to be able to go back home to hang out and be a part of their day. I have to give a big shout out to my agents Jess and Brian whose wedding I shot last year in Zihuatanejo and who are just all around awesome people. They were at Connery and Pash’s wedding in Wellesley, MA and put me in touch with Scott and Cindy. Now they just need more friends to get married so we can party again!

Oh and side note: best wedding crasher ever. Keep an eye out.

Connery+Pash | Wellesley, MA

This wedding kicked serious ass. It was a three day extravanganza in Wellesley, MA and I was so lucky to be a part of it. I first met Connery and Pash in Zihuatanejo while shooting Jess and Brian’s destination wedding. When they asked me to fly up to Massachusetts to be a part of their day I was more than happy to do so. It works out well since I get to go visit friends and family and shoot a few weddings along the way.

In addition to being awesome peeps they both have amazing families. Pash’s family is originally from Ghana and if you’ve never been a part of a Ghanian dance party or partaken in the amazing food you are totally missing out. I was lucky enough to be a part of not one, but two dance parties and ate my way through the country at brunch the day after the wedding.

The welcome party was held at Wellesley College which is also where we did portraits before the ceremony.

The girls got ready at the Hotel Indigo in Newton and the boys got ready at Pash’s childhood home. Then it was off to Wellesley College for photos. The ceremony was presided over Pash’s father who is a minister at Wellesley Congregational Church.

The day after the wedding there was a brunch held at the Obeng house. I wasn’t technically working, but when I saw the incredible Ghanian clothing that the women wore (and the custom pieces that were made for Pash, Connery, and the rest of her family) I had to take a few shots.

Chelsea+Matt | Sayulita, Mexico

Chelsea and Matt were married in Sayulita at Don Pedro’s palapa Brisa del Mar. We got a chance to take some photos before hand at Villa Amor and Playa de Los Muertos. Planning and design by the always wonderful Sea of Dreams Weddings. This is was a pretty short shoot for me, only three hours. For those that are interested I will usually offer shorter plans on weekdays during the wedding season.
