Scholarships at Entreamigos

One of the most important stories that I continually document is that of Entreamigos and the amazingly beautiful kids that are a part of it. (To see a few previous posts on EA go here, here, and here.) Last year I shot black and white portraits of all the children that are on scholarships at Entreamigos and the following is just a small glimpse into the 60 plus students, from primary school to university, that the program funds early. These scholarships help fund tuition, uniforms, and books/supplies along with the tutoring and classes that they have weekly at Entreamigos and it’s all tax deductable since EA is a 501(c)3. So with the end of the year coming up if you know anyone that needs/wants/absolutely has to donate to a cause, please let it be this one. You can find all you need to know about donating at the Entreamigos website, www.entreamigos.org.mx or feel free to email me with any questions. I’ve had several clients sponsor children or ask their guests to make donations in lieu of wedding gifts and it truly does make a difference. If you’re coming to the area any time soon please take a swing by the main street in San Pancho and learn more about Entreamigos and the programs it offers.

Nicole+Kevin | Conchas Chinas, Mexico

Nicole and Kevin had an epic bash at Villa Verana just South of Puerto Vallarta in Conchas Chinas. I could wax poetic on how amazingly in love these two are, but really what I was most impressed by was their ability to throw down. They only had around 30 guests, but they managed to party harder than most of my larger weddings of the year. I had oh so much fun with their friends and family and stayed far too late into the evening. At least I managed to stay out of the pool… this time.

Event design by Tamara Bradley. Make sure to scroll all the way down even though it’s a long one. The night Holga shots are awesome.

Day After Session | San Pancho, Mexico

A few days after their wedding Brooke and Travis met up with me in San Pancho and we headed over to the ruins to shoot. I was floored when we pulled up and they were in the last stages of being destroyed. No one had given the town any notice (not unusual for Mexico) and for such a beautiful site to be reduced to rubble is unbelievably depressing. Unfortunately It happens all too often down here. These are the last photos I got before it was razed completely the next day.

All on film. A mixture of Kodak Portra 400 and Kodak Tri-X. I also shot some polaroids during this shoot which you can see here. To see Brooke and Travis’s wedding post go here and for more details about their day you can head to Style Me Pretty.

toniann woodbury - Such a beautiful couple, fun wedding, and gorgeous photos!

Suzanne Fontaine - Lovely photos as usual Jill. So sorry to hear the ruins were destroyed. That is really sad.

Dave and I are so looking forward to our turn to have you as our photographer!

Brooke+Travis | Sayulita, Mexico

I am constantly saying how amazing my clients are and these two were no exception. Their destination bash was held at Brisa del Mar palapa in Sayulita with gorgeous details from Andrea and Gabi at Sayulita Dream Weddings and flowers by Flor Mimo.

Almost all on film and even a little Impossible Project instanity (yes, not a word, but it probably should be especially considering that twerk now is) thrown in there. Big ups to Christine Sargologos for coming down to shoot with me. Brooke and Travis’s wedding is also being featured on Style Me Pretty. Head there for more details about there day. To see their day after session in San Pancho go here.

Instant Wedding Love | New York

Some polaroid images from last week’s insanely beautiful wedding at Wave Hill in New York. The Impossible Project film is still pretty experimental meaning that I don’t always get a full pack of usable images, but I’m pretty stoked at how these polaroids came out. Loving the ethereal quality of the images.

RK Mitchell - Polaroids create “old school” images… circa 60′s prom pix!
Love your work Jill!
