When my friend Hector told me he was going to open for Panteon Rococo at the Fillmore, I jumped at the chance to shoot it. Panteon comes from the same line of bands as Control Machete and Molotov who, with their politically and socially motivated lyrics, gave a voice to the youth of Mexico back in the 80′s and 90′s. I got turned on to them a few years ago by Bola and Cocho and had been wanting to see them live for a while now, but never thought I would get the chance to shoot them in such an epic venue. Late night upstairs in the dressing room had me freaking out over the fact that The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, and Pink Floyd had all stood exactly where we were standing. Insanity.
Brenton and Justine run the awesome site Room Critic. They had a sweet little elopement with their son Saxon down at the St. Regis in Punta Mita. All film on this one except for those last three night shots. Kodak Tri-X and Portra 400.
