Chanda and Marcus. Where do I begin? Chanda hired me almost five years ago (when I was just starting out down here in Mexico) to shoot her birthday party which was taking place in Sayulita. You see Chanda goes big, real big. She doesn’t just go on vacation, she throws “Takeovers”, where she and her closest friends take over an area/resort/town, you name it. Every now and then Chanda would send me a note telling me how I would be the one to document her wedding. Fast forward to last year when I get an ecstatic email and then phone call telling me that she got engaged the day before to the love of her life. Marcus told me that before he even popped the question he knew who the photographer was going to be.
Words (especially mine since I often struggle to find the right ones) can not describe what an honor it was to be a part of not only their day, but their entire weekend. These are two amazingly beautiful human beings, inside and out, and their friends and family equally so. From the scavenger hunt to the bachelor phone piñata to absolutely killing on the dance floor the night of the wedding (thanks to super Dallas DJ Rob the General who they flew in from Texas), this crew throws down like no other. They actually surprised their guests by teaching the mariachi “Do Watcha Wanna” by the Rebirth Brass Band and it was epic.
I’m trying to keep all my weddings to one post now and although it might be a stretch fitting four days of photography into such a small space, I’m going for it. Here is the Cabo Destination Wedding Takeover in all its glory.
This wedding is also being featured on the ever so fabulous wedding blog What Junebug Loves. You can see all the details Chanda put together for her weekend there.
Our last night there we went to The Office in downtown Cabo. I took a long the Holga and got some of my favorite images of the weekend.
