Green shutters. When Saga and Jake first contacted me about photographing their wedding they emphasized how intimate it would be. Their closest friends and family brought together in the backyard of Jake’s childhood home in upstate New York, the house with the green shutters. As I pulled around the corner not knowing if I was even in the right area (my GPS had lost signal hours earlier) and I caught sight of the shutters. Green. I had arrived.
Referrals are my absolute favorite way to find new clients. My couples are amazing and in turn I know that their friends and family will be as well. In this case it was Jeremy and Joe’s intimate Yelapa wedding (you can see their festivities here) that brought these two legends my way. Jake and Joe attended the same writers retreat and when it came time for he and Saga to decide on a photographer I got the call (or email as it were) and I am so lucky I did. These two are two of the loveliest, super talented individuals I have ever met. (Not surprising after meeting the guests at Jeremy and Joe’s wedding to say the least.)
Their wedding was held at Jake’s family home in upstate New York just outside of Hudson and in true New England style there were clouds looming over us most of the morning. The rain held off until just about night fall, but it wasn’t too much that some yellow wellies couldn’t fix. Saga’s insanely beautiful Francesca Miranda dress had two different tops, white for the ceremony and a navy blue for the reception (which went fantastically with those previously mentioned wellies). Hands down it’s in my best top five wedding dress list I’ve ever shot.
