I’ve really been digging the more intimate affairs lately. Sharing such a life changing event is incredibly moving no matter how many people are there to share it, but when it is an elopement or immediate family it tends to make me feel even closer to my clients than I already do. Karen and Sean got married at Cabot Cove in Kennebunkport, ME with a grand total of seven people including themselves. Karen had found me through her friend Ella whose wedding I photographed in Bucerias, Mexico a while back. Theirs was a classic New England affair complete with cornhole (possibly the most amazing backyard game ever and if you’re not from New England you should google it right now) and a picture perfect Maine waterfront sunset. When I had finished shooting for the night and was leaving to let them sit down for dinner Karen’s mother told me it wouldn’t be the same if I didn’t sit down and celebrate with them. A glass of wine was poured and a chair was pulled out and I had one of the most entertaining family dinners that I’ve had in a long time. It’s humbling to be let into people’s lives like you’ve known each other for years and every time it happens I feel so lucky to be a part of it. Thank you for treating me like family.
